Hi friends,
Today we spent the day in Hanoi. We had peanut butter and honey sandwiches at the hotel for lunch, and for supper, we had chicken nuggets and french fries! It was a good food day for me.
Some vegetables came with my chicken nuggets. Julia ate some of my broccoli. She even seemed to like it! That was funny.
Last night and this night I am sleeping in my Auntie Heather's hotel room so that there is more room in the beds in my family's room. I kind of miss sleeping with my family, but my auntie does funny exercises and that is funny.
Tomorrow we are going on a boat ride on the Red River. We have to get up early to go, and we will be gone all day. I hope it is a good trip.
Today Julia played more with Helen and me than she did the other days. She also learned to give me five.
Bye bye for now!
Thomas

Dear Thomas and Family,
It sounds like you are having an amazing time with the newest addition to your family! CONGRATULATIONS. We are so happy for you.
We love to read about what you are doing and can almost taste the yummy bread and peanut butter! You look so funny in your Vietnamese hat, we think it looks like a lamp shade.
Please continue to send us updates, it helps us not miss you so much!
We are amazed that you are sleeping while we are here at school, and that you are awake while we are sleeping...you really are on the other side of the world!
Keep in touch, we miss you!
Warm wishes,
Mrs. Dusek and your first grade friends

I liked to read your message, Thomas. I think Julia is cute. I can't wait to see you again. The season feels like it is already winter here because winter is only in a month. I can't wait to see Julia too. I love you. I can't wait for Christmas to be here.
Love,
Elanor

Thomas,
G-ma Atkins is so proud of you for helping with Julia. I can't wait to see you all again! Tell Helen that I am proud of her for being such a good girl for mommie. I love you! Give Julia and Helen a big hug from G-Ma.
Love you all!!

Zzzzzzzzz....
(Not because they're bored, mind you...but because it's after 10p.m. here, while it's 11 a.m. there.)
Also--Tell your dad that we're probably an Oklahoma win over Mizzou from going to the Rose Bowl. Just in case he's not keeping up with sports over there like he should.
