I forgot to tell you. I ate a chicken foot at Ha Long Bay. It was weird. I don't think I'll have another one.
We lost our camera at the Silk Village and lost all of our pictures of Ha Long Bay, but we saved lots of them. We were also able to get pictures from Granny and Gramps and Auntie Heather. They almost have the same pictures that we took, but there are some different pictures, too and one is of a dragon. It was was grass and it was on this huge mountain. My dad bought a new camera in Vietnam last night while Helen and I stayed with Granny and Gramps and had bread and french fries for supper. We thought we were having barbecued chicken delivered to our room, but it did not come. We ordered twice and it didn't come. Maybe they didn't understand English very well.
We saw how silk was made at the silk village. First you have worms that make cocoons. Then the cocoons get made into thread. Then they have a machine called a loom that makes the threads into material with fancy designs.
Well, that's it. Love and kisses from Thomas. Do extra special comments please including comments on what you're doing. I want to know what is happening, especially at Wildwood Elementary!

I love you. We have a Christmas tree now. We have a great big star on our tree. A red one. Owen's birthday is soon. Tell Julia that "you're cute". Tell Helen: "do you love chicken legs"?
Owen says:
Thomas, I want to talk to Julia.
Julia, did you know that my birthday is on December 18th? Tuesday. That's all.
Thomas, is Vietnam cool? I like the robes you were wearing in the picture. That's all.
Uncle Goah says:
Thomas, you might have to wait a few days for news from Wildwood school, because when you posted this last entry, it was Friday night here. The kids in your class might not see it for a couple of days!
Thomas,
We're going to Bloomington, Illinois today to go Christmas shopping. Our 6 Christmas trees are up and lit and our house is all sparkly at night with lights. I sure do hope that you and your sisters are doing well.
I was sorry to hear about your camera being lost. It is a good thing that there were plenty of other pictures on your grampa and gramma's camera. Ha Long Bay sounded awesome!
We have a little snow here in Illinois...a couple inches. Hope that it stays nice weather for traveling today.
Well, we love you and hope you are enjoying your weekend!
Love,
Aunt Cindy
Hey Thomas!
Your new uncle Mathew and I have had a good weekend spending time with your Grandma Atkins (not the really old one). We made LOTS of Christmas cookies and spent a lot of time watching movies on TV because it's been freezing rain and yucky weather outside today.
I'm sure all the kids from your school are excited to hear about what new things you have seen in Vietnam. You sure do have a lot of details to share with us! We like hearing what you have to say because you seem to have a little different experiences than your mom and dad. :) (that's a sideways smiley face...)
I hope you guys get a call or letter that tells you the government gets the ball rolling with Juila's visa soon! I can't wait to see you guys and meet your new baby sister. Have fun in Vietnam!!!
Love,
Aunt Natalie, Uncle Mathew & Grandma Atkins
Hi Thomas,
Hello from Minnnesota. I miss you guys. I am going to keep updated by reading your blog and your mom and dads everyday.
Hopefully you guys are having a good time and seeing some more cool stuff to tell me about when you get home.
Give everyone a big hug for me.
Take care,
Auntie Heather
hi thomas!
i am impressed that you ate a chicken leg! i would never have eaten a chicken leg!
i am excited that my christmas break is comming up quickly! we had our christmas program at church last night. we sang a song called "unspeakable joy" at the end. while we sang, we had angels, shepards and wise men come up to the stage. they all bowed to mary and joseph and the baby jesus! (but the baby jesus was a newborn baby girl! how funny is that?)
i am glad to hear that you are having a good time! i am ready to hear about all of the new adventures that you get to experience. give your sisters a big hug for me!
take care! love you!
